Women's Chester FC

Chester FC sits firmly at the heart of our city. As a fan-owned club, it represents the very best of what football can be rooted in its community, driven by its supporters, and a source of immense pride for us all.

I still remember going to matches as a child, and that sense of excitement has never left me. To this day, I relish every opportunity to get down to the Deva Stadium and cheer on our team. I am proud to hold a season ticket for Chester FC Women, and what a remarkable season they have delivered.

Week after week, the women’s team has demonstrated exceptional talent, determination, and flair. Their recent semi-final victory against Accrington Stanley was a dramatic and unforgettable encounter, capped off by a chaotic final minute that saw four red cards shown to the opposition. It was a match that perfectly captured the passion and intensity of the game.

Now, the team looks ahead to the final on 10th May, kicking off at 16:00 at the Deva Stadium. I encourage everyone to come along, bring friends and family, and show their support. It promises to be a fantastic occasion and a showcase of the incredible progress of the women’s game.

The success of teams like Chester FC Women, alongside the achievements of the Lionesses on the national stage, is inspiring a new generation of footballers. Young girls across our community can now see a clear pathway in the sport, and that is something we should all celebrate and support

Our men’s team has also enjoyed a strong season, with one final game this weekend that will determine whether they secure a place in the play-offs. I wish them the very best of luck, let’s get behind them and show what our city is made of.

Clubs like Chester FC represent far more than just football. They carry local pride, shared identity, and a rich sense of history. The motto, “Our City. Our Community Our Club.”, isn’t simply a phrase, it captures the spirit and connection people feel. The club’s role extends beyond the pitch, bringing people together, promoting wellbeing, and providing a space for enjoyment and belonging.

With a summer of football ahead with the World Cup, there has never been a better time to get involved. If you haven’t already, come down to the Deva Stadium. You’ll find not just great football, but a true sense of community. #COYB
