The festive season in Chester is magical and I’d like to wish everyone in this wonderful city a very Merry Christmas.  

From community Christmas lights and an array of Christmas parades, to the fantastic Christmas market, Chester knows how to create the special festive feeling that comes alive at this time of year.  

This year, Chester has been recognised in multiple ‘Best Christmas Shopping Destinations’ and ‘Best Christmas Market’ lists, including taking the top spot as ‘The Times’ prettiest city for Christmas shopping.  Many congratulations to the retailers and all those working in the hospitality and visitor sectors for their hard work to create this successful Christmas cheer. 

As we enjoy this special time of year, it is important to keep in mind and thank all our public services working throughout Christmas and New Year. It is a really busy time of year, and they work hard to support our communities in Chester.  

I am also reminded of Chester’s community spirit and the importance of coming together and supporting each other, especially those who may be struggling, feeling lonely or simply find this time of year difficult.   

Our community is the heart of this wonderful season filled with kindness and togetherness.  

It has been a difficult year for many, but in the face of adversity, our community has shown remarkable solidarity and compassion. 

As the year draws to a close, I’d like to reflect and thank you all for your support and trust in me as your representative. I firmly believe I represent the best constituency in the country. It’s a wonderful city, filled with fantastic people. Chester is my home and it’s where my heart is. I am very lucky to be able to represent this beautiful city. 

In 2024, I am looking forward to continuing my work as your Member of Parliament, standing up for Chester and supporting you in any way I can.
