On 24th November 2023, Samantha Dixon MP hosted the third River Dee summit, bringing together local environmentalists, residents and local groups to discuss the action needed to stop sewage dumping in the river.
Samantha said:
“It was great to hear about the brilliant work being done by local people who are passionate about our river and promote citizen science.
The river is not only a crucial asset to our city but a vital part to out nature and biodiversity.
I am proud to see that these meetings are helping organisations to take action against sewage dumping and it was really exciting to hear that Chester could be part of the first phase of Welsh Water’s real time sewage monitoring.
Thank you to everyone who attended and continue to work together towards a cleaner and healthier River Dee.”
