Chester North and Neston boundary
Chester North and Neston boundary

The Boundary Commission has published its final recommendation for Parliamentary constituencies, which will come into effect at the next General Election.

The Government will draft an Order containing the Boundary Commission’s recommendations and seek approval from the Privy Council for the new boundaries to be used at the next General Election. Any by-elections that may take place before then will be based on the current constituency boundaries.

I am very disappointed to see our historic City of Chester being broken up in this way. Communities such as Lache, Handbridge Park, and Christleton & Huntington are very much part of the Chester City fabric. I am sad to be losing these wards to the new Chester South and Eddisbury constituency, but will continue to represent these communities until the next election.

The majority of existing City of Chester wards will remain in the new constituency – Chester North and Neston – with the addition of Little Neston, Neston, Parkgate, and Willaston & Thornton.

It is a privilege and the honour of a lifetime to represent the residents of the City of Chester in Parliament. I will continue to represent all of Chester’s communities until the next election, and I look forward to welcoming the people of Little Neston, Neston, Parkgate, and Willaston & Thornton.
